VLAN Interfaces and Bridges

Initially we wanted the following:
br0 -> em1.3
br1 -> em1.3
It seems like the above does not work as you cannot tie a single vlan dev to multiple bridges.

We tried working around that by:
br0 -> em1.3-br0 (on vlan3)
br1 -> em1.3-br1 (on vlan3).
But it looks like you cannot tie a single vlan to multiple vlan interfaces

[root@SW-E9-05VM ~]# ip link add link em1 name em1.3-br0 type vlan id 3
[root@SW-E9-05VM ~]# ip link add link em1 name em1.3-br1 type vlan id 3

How can we make it so that we can get multiple machines talking on the same vlan such that they DO NOT have to share a network bridge?

I will answer this question once I get feedback from the experts at redhat.
